Current Legislation |
I am honored to serve as Chair of the Committee on Commerce, Small Business and Entrepreneurship. This committee has broadened its scope to include small businesses, which are the economic backbone of our state. As Chair, I explore a variety of ways we can expand entrepreneurship as a vital economic development strategy in North Carolina (H1270), as well as pushing for legislation that will ensure job training, recruitment and retention. I also fought for access to information for adult adoptees (H445), and supported Safe Havens (H1368), a program which provides families with safe, neutral, and family‑friendly environments for the exchange and visitation with children by parents—without fear of domestic violence. These are some of issues I am working hard on to ensure that life in our community flourishes to the best of our ability. I welcome your thoughts about what is most important for North Carolina.
